Art Fair 2016

It was my first time to attend the annual Art Fair exhibit held at The Link Carpark in Makati. I had no idea what to expect. To be honest, I don’t have an artist’s eye, so I can probably appreciate art upto a certain level only. But I did enjoy my time basking on the different emotions artists from all over tried to spill, carve, photograph, and shoot. Here are a few of my favorites from the exhibit. Sorry in advance, I didn’t even note down who made what…

There were quite a lot of unforgettable pieces from this year’s exhibit. While I wasn’t arrested by an artwork, I did encounter unforgettable artworks such as this spectacular piece that plays with light and reflection. Suffice it to say, it pleased the jumper in me. I don’t really consider myself to have fear of heights BUT…

Sorry about my reflection. I couldn’t resist show off my Asian side.

Someone pointed out how I don’t gravitate towards the gross or creepy art. I don’t. I get so scared easily, and I would appreciate if any artwork I’d own won’t pull a Phoebe-original on me.

I prefer pieces that are calming, or has something intriguing in them. I love art that makes me look closer, then far back, then deeper. I love pieces that fit certain feelings or memories. I think of art as emblems that people can keep to make their home (or office) feel more like a sanctuary of memories–simply because it’s in our nature to falter, and not everyone is willing to risk forgetting what it’s like to be in specific moments.
